In December 2018, I had the opportunity to do an artist residency with the inspiring studio, Studio Kura in Itoshima, Japan. I proposed a project to learn the life and the way of living of the town’s people in Itoshima with the curiosity of the life long living of the Japanese, the rural life and the simplicity of the way of living in the area. I set a perimeter for myself in order to complete the project in a month. The data and the result I got to collect was wonderful and very interesting. I got to interview 30 residents in Itoshima, age range from 14 to 80. By the end of the residency, each of the Artist Residents was challenged to hold a solo exhibition. Here are some of the work I produced for the show. Process blogs and a booklet about the result are coming soon.
